Charlotte Ballard | Team S.W.A.T 3.0
Welcome to Charlotte Ballard's SOY Fundraising Page!
One of my biggest hero’s is my mamaw, Judy Covone, who battled non hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2011 and breast cancer cancer in 2015 and survived both and is a very healthy and happy person today. None of that could have been done without the research and treatment which is funded by LLS.
Catching up with Charlotte!
Hello Family and Friends! I am a sophomore at Georgetown Visitation and I am so excited to be apart of the Students of the Year (SOY) campaign with my team S.W.A.T. 3.0. I love helping people and SOY is the greatest way I can accomplish that.
I am participating in this campaign for my fellow Visitation schoolmate, Kelly Brodnik, who passed away from childhood cancer in 2018. I am also doing this to honor my great uncle who passed away from leukemia in 2019 and my grandmother who is a non hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer survivor. I will be working to help as much as possible to fund researches for these cancers in order to find a cure so no more people have to go through this.
Welcome to Charlotte Ballard's SOY Fundraising Page!
Welcome To My Fundraising Page!
I am honored to be participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2020 Students of the Year (SOY) campaign, a seven-week initiative in which high school students from around the country are nominated to participate in a fundraising competition to benefit LLS’s mission: to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
I am raising funds in honor of Kelly Brodnick, a member of the Georgetown Visitation community who passed away last year, and those who are currently battling or are in remission from a blood cancer. Each dollar is a vote and the team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Students of the Year. As a team, our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.
S.W.A.T. 3.0's main mission is to strengthen our communication skills through out philanthropic efforts and to share our cause with those around us. Every dollar donated counts towards the cause, no matter how large or small.
Join S.W.A.T. 3.0 in our fight against cancer!

We are donating on behalf of S. Steven 'Spike' Karalekas, a family friend and amazing man who lost his battle with leukemia on 11/28/19. Spike was kind to everyone, loved by so many and is very missed. Kudos to S.W.A.T. 3.0 and to all in their mission to cure blood cancers and improve the lives of patients and their families. Love, The Loesch Family

Charlotte, It is so incredible that you are devoting your time to such an amazing cause. It makes such a difference in the lives of people who are fighting this battle. My cousin’s son Michael was diagnosed when he was 6 years old. He’s is 12 now and in remission now and is doing wonderfully. Thank you for helping kids like him with your fundraiser! Love, The Carosi Family
