Hello all!

It's finally January 10th!  Let the fundraising begin!!

My campaign team and I have been working hard and are so excited to see our work unfold during the next seven weeks!  This truly is an amazing cause and I'm so honored to be a part of the Students of the Year Campaign because of the great impact that this campaign has.  Last year,  the Students of the Year Campaign alone raised over 2 million dollars to benefit blood cancer patients and their families and fund research towards a cure.  All of the students in the 2018 group worked incredibly hard and I am so honored to be a part of their legacy.

Those who donated in the first 24 hours-- thank you so much for your considerate donations!  I appreciate your generosity more than you know!  Thank you for being a part of our campaign!

Thank you all for considering to donate!

For a cure,

Kayla Maguire

Hello all!

January 10th is almost here! My campaign partner Megan and I, along with the rest of Team LHS for LLS, are so excited for the campaign to begin. We have spent the past several months brainstorming and planning our campaign and cannot wait to put our ideas into effect!

Keep an eye out for emails throughout the campaign, they will include updates about our team's progress and what we worked on that week!

Thank you for supporting Team LHS for LLS in our campaign!

For a cure,

Kayla

I am honored to participate in the 2019 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am proud to be raising critical dollars in honor of a young patient hero who is currently battling or is in remission from a blood cancer. Each dollar is a vote. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student(s) of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.

For this campaign, I am partnered with my friend and classmate, Megan Jungers. Megan and I have been in school together since kindergarten and are thrilled to have the chance to work together for this amazing cause. Along with my co-candidate Megan, the rest of Team LHS for LLS and is ready to work hard!

Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
