I want to start this letter with a HUGE thank you!!!!! You all were a part of a record setting year!!!! Not only did our local campaign raise $2.4 MILLION dollars in just 10 weeks, but I earned the title of National All Star, ranking #1 in the nation with a record setting $284,927.76. NOT one of these dollars could have been raised if it were not for YOUR donation. In addition to this fabulous title, and MOST importantly, I earned 2 research grants specifically focused on pediatric blood cancer in Sydney’s name. This is now the 6th research grant and nearly ¾ of a Million dollars I have earned and raised in this angel’s name……REMARKABLE! WE are changing the world, and know that BEATING CANCER IS NOW IN YOUR BLOOD!!!
As you know I have dedicated much of my life since 2014 to our Man & Woman of the Year campaign for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It is a life-changing and eye-opening experience, and I will never stop fighting for blood cancer cures. This is my 3rd term on our chapter’s Board of Local Trustees and I am proud to announce I am in my first year, of a two year term as Co-Chair to the 2019 Man and Woman of the Year Campaign. We have 27 very eager and dedicated candidates with a hope and a dream to set a new National record and raise $2.5 million dollars in the next 10 weeks!!!!!!!! (and if you know me as well as I know you do……THIS WILL HAPPEN!!))
Y’ALL!!!! I AM SO PROUD TO TELL YOU …..This is an organization that is saving lives. Over the past two years LLS has seen an incredible return on its research investment… an investment fueled by the generosity of caring and committed individuals like you. In a typical year we celebrate 2 to 3 new approvals for blood cancers. However, since January 2017, we celebrated the unprecedented FDA approval of 41 new therapies for blood cancer patients who so desperately need them. LLS played a role in 36 of those new therapies! And we are not stopping now! We remain focused on one thing – achieving a world without blood cancers, because beating cancer is in our blood.
Although we’ve come a long way, our work is not done. Please help, as you always do, and contribute to this amazing cause, and we WILL raise $2.5 million dollars by June 1st!!!! (Let me know if you want to be at the Gala to help us celebrate)
