Hello! My name is Rachel. I have signed up to fundraise in order to save lives with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). During these next 7 weeks, I am working to raise as much as possible.
My grandmother, Peggy Lovette Shuping, is one of the most selfless and kind human beings I have ever met. She and my grandfather often spend their time traveling up and down the East coast to volunteer wherever they can: building homes and churches, helping out at foster homes, etc. Their giving souls have always been one of my biggest inspirations.
Recently my grandmother was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. It's a hard moment when you realized time with someone special has been stolen from you. Right after her diagnosis, I was asked to join the LLS campaign. It was a very serendipitous moment for me. I decided right then and there I wanted to give back in a way that would make her proud. As a family going through the blood cancer treatment process, we are passionate about supporting blood cancer research, education, awareness, and patient support services.
Sadly enough, every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer, and it's the #1 form of childhood cancer. Thanks to your support, we can help decrease these statistics. Your donations will help fund therapies, treatments, patient services, advocacy, public and professional education; all of these save lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer treatment advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for different blood cancers.
Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic, and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.
My team and I have a goal to raise $20,000 to fight blood cancer. Your help in this mission would be greatly appreciated! Your donation will be put directly to good use, and it is tax-deductible. No donation amount is too big or too small!!!!
On behalf of my grandmother and blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you again for your support!
