Hi! My name is Ebie Harrell and I am a freshmen at Broughton High School. I am honored to have been nominated as a Students of the Year candidate to save lives with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). I am working to raise as much as possible over the next 7 weeks.
The reason I am participating in this campaign is because I want to help LLS continue its journey to find a cure to blood cancers. After seeing how Hodgkin Lymphoma affected one of our close family friends, Raines Kuppin in 2021, it inspired me to want to make a difference. Thankfully, Raines is on her way towards remission, and we are dedicating our campaign in honor of her fight.
Every dollar raised counts as one vote for my campaign. The candidate(s) whose team tallies the most votes earns the prestigious title of Student or Students of the Year. Will you help me earn that title?
As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses. Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers.
Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.
We really are getting close to our goal of a world without blood cancers!
All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. They'll not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support! For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org

Jacin Marc Lisner, 30, of Chesapeake died sadly on March 4, 2022, due to an auto accident. Jacin was an avid car enthusiast and an accomplished driver who shared his skill by training others. God blessed Jacin with kindness, love for all, intelligence, patience and generosity. Racin Jacin as he was known by many, loved cars. Jacin’s interest began as a baby and he began competitively driving go-karts as a child. At age 14 he became one of the first to obtain a competition track license. He enjoyed driving his Diasio race car at many tracks, including VIR, Summit Point, CMP, NCCAR and Langley Speedway. Jacin especially loved autocrossing his Corvette. Not only did he enjoy racing, he also wanted to share what he did and knew with others and help them get involved. A personal proud moment was when he became a driving instructor. He was a wonderful man whose life was too short. This donation is in honor of Jacin.

Great job Ebie! Just think about how much money you helped raise for cancer that would not have been donated if you hadn't stepped in to do this. Your mother and I are proud of you!
