I am excited to announce that I have accepted the challenge to compete in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2018 Students of the Year fundraising campaign! Every dollar I raise supports the LLS mission to cure Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and Myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

This is especially meaningful to me and my family, as my mom recently completed treatment in her on going battle to manage Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, or CLL. CLL is a type of cancer that starts from cells that become abnormal white blood cells in the bone marrow. The cancer cells start in the bone marrow, and migrate into the blood.

Students of the Year is an exciting leadership development and philanthropy program in which high school students participate in a fundraising competition to benefit LLS. Candidates are judged solely on a philanthropic basis and the candidate who raises the most funds during the seven-week campaign period will be awarded the title of Student of the Year.
