Welcome to my fundraising page! 

My friend Sasha Nikiforov and I were nominated as candidates for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Triad Student of the Year program (SoY). This year we are raising money in honor of Nathanial Ivey. Nathaniel was born with a bladder obstruction and after almost two years of dialysis, he received a transplant from his mom on February 8, 2006. On December 28, 2019, Nathaniel had surgery for what doctors thought was a ruptured appendix. Instead, they found a very large abdominal lymph node which grew as a result of his immunosuppressive medication. To their surprise, Nathaniel had been diagnosed with Lymphoma, but in July 2020, Nathaniel completed treatment and was declared cancer-free. By working with this organization, we hope to help many other families with cases like Nathaniel’s. 

As of 2020, I started my own organization, Hetti’s Smile Boxes (@hettissmileboxes),  where I send out personalized care-packages to children in the US with life-threatening illnesses. I started closely working with families who had children that were diagnosed with Leukemia and other forms of cancers. Seeing the endless struggle of these families broke my heart and I wanted to do something more. Being part of LLS gave me another opportunity to help and I want to encourage others to share my aspirations.
