Hey! Thanks for visiting my fundraising page! My name is Leighton Livengood, and I am a freshman at Enloe High School where I am on the swim team and active in the dance program. Outside of school, I proudly dance at NCDI, I enjoy walks around the neighborhood, I play ukulele, and I love to spend time with my friends and family. That is me in a nutshell, except for the HUGE aspect of my life invlolving wanting to make a difference! I have been a leader my whole life, which has gotten me in trouble more times than its helped me. But now, I have found the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Student Visionaries of the Year program, and am taking it as my chance to be a leader for the better good. I believe that I can lead my campaign team to raise an extraordinary amount of money, ensuring that my generation is the last to see blood cancers! I started my LLS journey in 2022, as a team member for another candidate team. This was how I learned that the mission of LLS is something that I am extrememely passionate about. So when I was nominated as a 2024 Candidate, I jumped at the chance! I am leading my campaign team, Team Answer For Cancer, in honor of my Aunt Karen who sadly passed away at age 6 from Leukemia. I feel so incredibely grateful to now be able to honor her memory in an even bigger way than being named after her.

I am proud to say that I have the fundrasing goal of $40000

Visionaries look to the future—and see infinite possibility.
They challenge the status quo—and make the impossible possible.
They boldly imagine a better world – and lead the charge to create it.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.

I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission. Last year, I was a proud team member on another candidate team. Being a team member was how I realized how passionate I was about LLS and its mission. So this year, I decided to continue my LLS journey as a 2024 Student Visionary of the Year candidate in honor of my Aunt Karen who sadly passed away at age 6 from Leukemia.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

  • Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

Leighton, raising money for blood cancer is very near and dear to my heart! My beloved sister has a blood cancer that is incurable. We hope that through the wonderful work of the LLS organization more cancer cures will be found and one day cancer will be eradicated. Well done on becoming a candidate of the 2024 Student Visionary of the Year. You are an inspiration!
