I'm Jordan Hannan, a junior at Cardinal Gibbons High School, and I was nominated to be the 2023 Triangle Student Visionary of the Year! This year, I'm challenging myself to use my voice to save lives, and I need your help to accomplish this.

Why am I so passionate about supporting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society? My family has always been extremely passionate about medical research, particularly at Duke Children's Hospital, whose donors, researchers, and doctors have saved countless lives, including mine and my sister's. After being born three months premature, my older sister spent her first two months in their NICU. Three years later, I was born with a genetic disorder that predominantly affects my heart and has brought me to Duke for innumerable appointments and several surgeries throughout my life. The donor-funded research that has benefited my family has not been overlooked, and I want to provide that for someone else. I, with the support of the LLS community, strive to keep others out of hospitals and with their families. My campaign will provide support to the critical work of LLS in hopes that one day no one will have to grow up without the ones they love. I know that with your help, I can reach my goal, raising $50,000, and make a direct impact in the fight against blood cancers.

• Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients

• Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
