Hello Friends & Family! What an honor is has been to be selected as a Student Visionary of the Year Candidate & Team Leader in Eastern North Carolina! I am working hard with my team of 10 awesome people to raise a total of $60,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! We have only 7 weeks, but I KNOW we can do it! The reason why I am excited to lead this amazing effort is my passion for getting involved in my community and contributing to efforts that improve the lives of other people. My family has lost family members to cancer, and I have supported friends my age as they have battled these diseases. I will do anything I can to contriubte to a CURE for blood cancers! The pillar of my campaign is MORE RESEARCH! Do you know that many of the medicines and treatment plans that are used on adults battling blood cancers, are also used on pediatric patients? These current treatments can be very hard on children, and may leave a pediatric Leukemia or Lymphoma patient with lasting side effects for years to come. My passion is raising funds to hopefully contribute to the research and development of pediatric specifc drugs and therapies. I would love to see children beat Leukemia or Lymphoma and live a very long life without battling ongoing side effects. Pediatrics patients deserve more options!
