Warm Greetings, My Friend!
I hope this note finds you and your family in good, healthy spirits!
Over the past several years, you may have helped MAKE A HUGE IMPACT for the landscape of blood cancers, with your continuous support and heart-felt, generous contribution(s) to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s LADY in RED campaign. Did you know?…
-
- Every 3 minutes someone in the United States is diagnosed with blood cancer.
- More than 1/3 of blood cancer patients do not survive 5 years after their diagnosis.
- Every 9 minutes someone dies in the United States from a blood cancer.
Your donation has, and will continue to help, make the dreams come true for thousands of mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and pets by boosting the quality of life for their loved ones, who have been diagnosed.
Your contribution to my campaign, “LADY in RED” has, and will continue, to help honor my grandparents, “Poppa & Gan-Gan” with a research grant for Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
What does this mean? Your chartable gift is hard at work! The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society continues to lead the FIRST-EVER GROUND BREAKING MASTER TRIALS & FDA APPROVED MASTER TREATMENTS for AML PATIENTS, known as BEAT AML. What is AML?
-
- AML is the hardest form of blood cancer to detect.
- AML is the most lethal of all blood cancers.
- AML has seen little to no improvements in treatments in more than 40 years.
- AML survival rate is 26%.

EVEN A PENNY COULD BE THE MISSING CENT TO FUND A MIRACLE!
In 2009, my family and I lost two very special members to AML. To a study, they are a number, but to us they were “Poppa & Gan Gan.” AML attacked my Grandparents with vengeance & within 4 days of being diagnosed, they both lost their battles within 8 months apart. Déjà vu is an understatement.
Over the past 3 years, you may have contributed, or will this year you may decide to contribute, to the success of the LADY in RED campaign. Together, we have raised over $80,000 in the fight against blood cancers and have been recognized for being the Community Involvement Leaders, as we persevere to raise awareness for Leukemia, Lymphoma, Myeloma & Hodgkin’s Disease.
A message from Britoni
“From the bottom of my heart, with happy tears in my eyes, I send you a million of wholehearted THANK YOU’s! You're selfless act of kindness is helping to make the world a better place! My involvement with the LLS has been life-changing. To have the opportunity to honor my grandparents and many others affected by blood cancers, over the years, has been nothing shy of emotionally and mentally challenging. However, I have found FUNdraising is a lot easier than fighting for your life and I am honored to be a voice for those who are battling day-in and day-out for their own survival, well-being and quality of life.
Kindly, I am asking for you to please take a moment to thoughtfully pray and consider about making a donation, of any amount.. The deadline to make a charitable contribution towards my 2019 LADY in RED campaign is June 1, 2019”.
Together, let’s make SOMEDAY TODAY.
Love, Britoni Burdett
