Everyone has their own story but we all share the losses caused by a common enemy, cancer.  The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) is a global leader in the fight against cancer and I want to join the team to help patients and their families. I want to take steps to change the landscape of, and eventually end, cancer. Helping to make a difference will certainly make a difference in my life.

I have relatives who have had or passed away from cancer. While most of them did not have blood cancer, it was still cancer. I'm participating in the Students of the Year campaign because cancer is, unfortunately, a universal experience, and every step we take to end it is a step in the right direction. The LLS's mission is one that I, wholeheartedly, agree with and any opportunity I get to help achieve that mission is one I will not pass up. The Students of the Year program provides a unique chance for me and other students to make a real, long-lasting difference in not only our communities but for cancer patients around the world. 

Our team, AAction Team, is working to raise as much as possible during the 7 weeks from January 17 – March 5, 2021.  Our team has an aggressive goal of $100,000 and I want to help us get there.

As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses. With your support, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers. Many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic, and prostate cancers. And LLS funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.

In the time it took you to read this, five people have heard the words, "You have cancer". Together, lets make sure our children and grandchildren only ever have to hear about cancer in the history books.
