Everyone has their own story, but we all share the losses caused by a common enemy, cancer.  The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is a global leader in the fight against cancer and I want to join the team to help patients and their families. I want to take steps to change the landscape of, and eventually end, cancer.

I am so excited to be raising funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as a part of Ashlee Shedd's team this year! LLS is a great way to give back to the community and I am so humbled that I get to be a part of this program. Many people have been affected by these horrible diseases, and my family has also had its own experiences with cancer. My great grandfather died of leukemia, and this year my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Cancer affects so many people, and that is why it is so important to find a cure! Another reason I am fundraising for LLS is because of Ashlee. She is an amazing role model, athlete, and friend, and I will always be there to support her and cheer her on through everything she does!

Our team is working to raise as much as possible over 7 weeks (Jan 15 - March 5). Every dollar we raise counts as one vote for my team, Fundraising to Fight Cancer, and a blow against cancer. Our team has an aggressive goal of $50,000 and I want to help us get there!

Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers. Many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients, but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers, and LLS funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.

We really are getting close to our goal of a world without blood cancers!
