Dear Friends and Family,

Today more than a million Americans are fighting a daily battle with blood cancers and every 4 minutes another person unwillingly joins the fight. I have been given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join the battle and help those living with blood cancers. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has nominated me as a candidate in their Charlotte “Students of the Year” fundraising challenge, and I could not be more excited to make a difference in the lives of patients across the country.

This mission is especially important to me because my grandfather passed away in November 2003.  He was diagnosed with AML Type 4 in October, and he passed away 43 days later.  My mom was pregnant with me at the time, and I was born three weeks later.  I would have been his first grandchild.  I don’t want other people to go through what my family went through, and I don’t want other children to miss out on having grandparents.

Lexie Hinshaw, Charlotte McDonald and I have assembled Forbes’ Fighters with an ambitious goal of raising $150,000 during the next seven weeks.  Each dollar I raise is a vote for my campaign, and one step closer to finding a cure for blood cancers.  The candidate who raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year.  I would greatly appreciate your donation to our cause, as well as your help in spreading the word through social media and email.  The campaign ends March 13, 2020 - so NOW is the time!  No donation is too small or large, and please remember that your company may match your donation!
