Welcome to Caroline Borrello's SOY Fundraising Page!
Welcome to the official team CARE 2019 campaign page!
When a person hears the words "You have cancer," it can be one of the darkest times in their life. We believe that no one should face that scary battle alone, so we've signed up to save lives by leading Team Care in the Students of the Year campaign. I've set an aggressive goal to raise a minimum of $30,000 for the mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), and we need your help to get there! Please consider joining us on this 7-week journey to be a LIGHT to cancer patients in their time of need!
Everyone has been affected by cancer in some way. Seeing the struggles of what my friends and family have gone though in order to beat cancer motivated me to join this campaign. I’ve always been passionate about helping in the journey to find a cure, but I could never figure out what I could do to make the biggest impact. I joined this campaign because being a part of something like this- that helps so many people- is definitely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
Everyone wins when cancer loses. Thanks to your generosity, our efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers.
In fact, here is what your donation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma supports:
- NEW DRUGS LEADING TO CURES. Last year alone, the FDA approved a record-breaking 18 new blood cancer drugs. 15 of those were funded by LLS at some point in their development.
- FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR LOCAL PATIENTS. In 2017, LLS gave 753 North Carolina Patients over $1.9 Million in co-pay and travel assistance.
- A WORLD WITHOUT CANCER. PERIOD. Many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients, but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers.
We need to continue this great work! Please be as generous as possible and help us make a lasting impact in the lives of patients and their families.
On behalf of cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
Welcome to Caroline Borrello's SOY Fundraising Page!
I am honored to participate in the 2019 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am proud to be raising critical dollars in honor of a young patient hero who is currently battling or is in remission from a blood cancer. Each dollar is a vote. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student(s) of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.
Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.
We really are changing the face of blood cancer!
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.
Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
