Welcome to Abbey Rosenthal's SOY Fundraising Page!

Mar 15, 2020

I am excited and honored to participate as a team member for the 2020 Students of the Year program! It is a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am proud to support my candidate and I am determined to raise money in honor of a young patient hero who is currently battling or is in remission from a blood cancer. Each dollar is a vote and I hope that you will help me and my team raise money for this amazing society. Not only will this help our young patient hero but it will help many others with blood cancers like leukemia which is a common cancer in children and teens. Fundraising with this society means a lot to me because I lost my grandma to cancer three years ago. It was one of the hardest things I have ever been through and she was so strong and continued to fight till the end. I want to be able to give others a better chance of beating cancer and continuing to live their lives without having to worry about the medicines and the doctors appointments. I want to help bring happiness and help to others through this fundraiser and I hope you would be kind enough to join my fight in helping others against cancer. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. My mission is not just to become student of the year, but to raise the money and to bring attention to blood cancers and help support centers trying to find cures. Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases as well. Now drugs that were first approved for blood cancers have become approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis! We really are changing the world of cancer with your donations! And helping many people get another chance at a cancer free life. All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They will not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need. With your help the world can become a heathier, happier, and overall a better place. Please visit my website often and bring friends who would also like to donate! On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support! For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org.
