Welcome to Abby McLeod's SOY Fundraising Page!
We have two weeks left in the Student of the Year Campaign for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I am extremely thankful for all the support we've received. Until May 29th, we will be selling t-shirts. The proceeds of this shirt will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as well as a local business in Baton Rouge, SPI Screen Print Images. The shirts are $15 a piece. We hope that you will consider purchasing one...

Thank you for your continued support in our efforts to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and their mission to beat blood cancers!
Welcome to Abby McLeod's SOY Fundraising Page!
Did you know that about every three minutes someone in the United States is diagnosed with a type of blood cancer? There are more than 1.3 million people living with or in remission from blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma, and around 30,000 of those patients live in Louisiana or Mississippi. I have been given the opportunity to help fight this battle against blood cancer as a candidate in the Student Of the Year program (SOY) though the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). I am so excited to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime experience and to make a difference in the lives of those suffering from blood cancer as well as their families. I am honored to be able to lead my campaign team towards our goal of $30,000 from March 4th to June 2nd.
We are shown examples of people positively changing the world all the time. I never considered that I would ever have the opportunity to do so, especially by helping cure something that has affected my family. A few years ago, my Aunt Missy, was diagnosed with lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. I am thankful that today she is enjoying life cancer free. Her recovery was made possible by the blood cancer research that the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is helping fund. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has already provided over 1.2 billion dollars towards blood cancer research, as well as helping patients and families cope with a diagnosis.
Even with greatly improved survival rates in recent years, thanks in large part to the research that LLS funds, Leukemia still causes more deaths than any other cancer among children under the age of 20.
My campaign provides an opportunity to support the critical work of LLS in fighting these diseases. Help us BEE the change against blood cancers. It would mean a lot to me if you would consider donating to our campaign.
If you would prefer to mail your donation, please make your check payable to: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and print "Baton Rouge Bees" in the “Memo” section. The deadline for receiving contributions is June 2nd. Please note: your donations are tax deductible. Aside from monetary donations, we would love to hear from you or someone you know who would be willing to donate goods or services for auction items, sponsorships, ads, or other possible fundraising opportunities. Large or small, your contribution to this worthy effort will be greatly appreciated.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
