Hi, my name is Gabe Bartlett. I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime to help more than 1.1 million Americans who are living with blood cancer. Each year The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Minnesota chapter launches its Student of the Year fundraising campaign. This year I was nominated to be a 2020 Student of the Year candidate. The campaign is a seven-week fundraising competition where high school students come together and raise funds in honor of people that suffer from blood cancer.

 

This campaign is important to me because when I was 12 years old I was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma, an aggressive form of blood cancer. It was the hardest and scariest time of my life, I didn’t know what was going to happen to me and if I was going to be ok.
