Week 2, Here We Come!

Jan 13, 2019

Tomorrow is the first day of week 2, and Gracie and I are so excited! We have both learned so much over the past couple months of preparing for this campaign. Over the last week I have had several amazing opportunities to hear people's own testimonies of how blood cancer has affected them or those close to them. Please continue to share your own stories in the comments as you make donations, or reach out to me to share! I'm so blessed to have so many supportive friends and family members, thank you to everyone so far!!

Welcome to Ella Kester's SOY Fundraising Page!

Jan 03, 2019

I have recently made a very big decision: to take action to help stop cancer, before it affects more people than it already has. Many of my family members and close friends have been deeply affected by cancer in so many ways- all of this grief and difficulty has made an impact on me. As a senior in high school who plans to enter the medical field, I feel that it is crucial for me to do my part to support the medical community so they can continue to research, advocate, and support patients.

I have been nominated as a 2019 Students of the Year candidate for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). This is a seven-week fundraising campaign that lasts from January 7th through February 26th. My team, Team Washburn and I are working hard to reach our fundraising goal of $50,000, so that we can dedicate a research grant in honor of someone who has had cancer. We need your help in order to reach our goal!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!

The main reason people don't give is because they aren't asked. Thanks for asking!
