Team's Students of the Year Fundraiser
Leukemia is the number one most diagnosed cancer in children and young adults. We are so excited and honored to have been nominated for the 2022 Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) Student of the Year Campaign, (SOY) in honor of our late friend JC Delmamore’s legacy.
JC was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia at age 2. He would go on to fight this horrible disease for 11 years. When JC was only 5 years he was told he was no longer in remission, and the cancer had returned. Despite his extensive treatments and experimental procedures, JC sadly passed away in 2018. Our team name, “JC Strong” is a tribute to how strong JC stayed throughout his battle. He fought with more determination and courage than anyone could ever imagine. JC was always positive and stayed strong in his faith and made the most of everyday. While staying JC Strong, always with a positive attitude, he looked at his mom and said, “Well I guess we have work to do.” We are honored to continue the work in his name, we would strongly appreciate your support. Will you join us in the battle against cancer?
Forty percent of cancer treatments and drugs came from LLS funded research. This research and their success has been used to treat multiple other types of cancer, not just blood cancers. Their research has also crossed over and is helping fight Alzheimer’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis. Our friend JC was part of several of these new treatments.
The Students of the Year campaign is a 7 week campaign that runs from January 20th to March 11th, 2022. Our team's goal is to create awareness, and provide education by reaching 100,000 people. Another part of our goal is to raise $100,000 which would fund two research projects in JC’s name. If every person we reach donated just one dollar, think of the difference we could make working together!
As you know, everyone wins when cancer loses. Thanks to your support, my efforts will help fund therapies and treatments that are saving lives. Over the years, support from people like you has been responsible for the blood cancer advancements that have doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled the survival rate for some blood cancers.
Please support us by also sharing our story and website to your friends, family and other contacts. The more people we reach together the more of an impact we can have.
Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are also now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are in clinical trials for patients with lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. And LLS-funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies are now saving thousands of lives every day.
We really are getting close to our goal of a world without blood cancers!
All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. They'll not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support! For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org
