Our team is honored to participate in the 2020 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). We are excited to fundraise for LLS, but more importantly create an IMPACT! Each dollar donated is a vote. The candidate that has the most votes at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. Team Dynamic Impacters are not only dedicated to fundraise for this amazing group, but also bring awareness to LLS and their mission to find the CURE!

Four years ago, a close friend of Jordy’s family called them to inform them of terrible news. The news was devastating. The words were so sharp when he said he had a brain tumor. The journey was short for him, but sadly very painful. This was especially emotional since Jordy lost his grandma to cancer as well. She suffered severely for years, then decided to move back to Mexico to enjoy her last days in her hometown. Melissa has had many loved ones pass away from cancer, many of the situations, there was a lack of financial support to pay for things such as hospital visits and chemotherapy. A recent one was in early August, Melissa found out her uncle was diagnosed with cancer in a few different areas, including his blood and he doesn’t have much longer living. While their family certainly doesn’t have the money to pay for treatments, they recently reached out to multiple organizations such as the Leukemia Lymphoma Society who financially assist those in need! 

So, why LLS? Well, the Leukemia Lymphoma Society has pumped over 1.2 BILLION dollars into cancer research! In the last decade, over 40% of cancer treatments and drugs came from LLS funded research. This research isn’t only being used to treat blood cancers but also other various types of cancer and diseases which has helped Melissa’s uncle.
