I am honored to participate in the 2019 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

On August 6^th, 2016, the world lost a warrior after a 9 year battle with leukemia.  That warrior is my forever 13 year old daughter Reese.  Our lives haven’t been the same and we live each day with Reese in our hearts and strive to live our best lives for her!!  Our family has been a part of the fundraising efforts for the LLS since 2009 and we haven’t stopped yet.  This is why I am so excited that Reese’s two best friends, Isabella and Audrey, are running for Students of the Year as Team Reese Power! This is a seven week campaign where they will work with their team to raise the most money and earn the title of Student of the Year!  What a challenge these two incredible sophomores are undertaking!  They will forever be Reese’s besties and am so thrilled to be a part of this! 

Will you help these girls do something BIG in honor of their best friend?  It isn’t just important to them, it’s important to those who are still fighting and to those who have yet to be diagnosed.  It’s important because so many people’s lives are being saved because of the research funded by the LLS.  It’s important because there are so many children, like Reese, who weren’t so lucky.

Did you know that every three minutes someone in this country is diagnosed with a blood cancer and every nine minutes, someone dies?  Those statistics need to change and we want to be part of that change!
