Students of the Year Kansas City

Welcome to Scott's Tots' SOY Fundraising Page!
We are so excited to share that we were nominated as candidates for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Students of the Year, a program for high school students to develop and practice leadership, entrepreneurship, marketing and project management while raising money for LLS. We are writing today to ask for your support of our campaign and LLS’ mission to find a cure for blood cancers and improve the quality of life for patients, including some of our family and friends. We're proud to be competing as Scott's Tots, in honor of Scott Novorr.
SOPHIE
“When I was in 5th grade, my family’s life was flipped upside down. We received the devastating news that my dad, Scott Novorr, had been diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia. After years of continuous oral treatment failures, our worst fear had become a reality. In November of 2018, my dad had been admitted to the hospital to receive a bone marrow transplant. A year later, thanks to the help of not only his amazing doctors, but the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, he is back on his feet and doing better than we could have ever imagined. I can’t thank the LLS enough for what they have done for my dad and my family, which is why I am so passionate about helping raise money for this amazing and life changing organization.”
CHANDLER
“We are leading this team in honor of our hero, Scott Novorr. Scott is my neighbor and teammate (Sophie Novorr's) father who has battled with this disease. I have seen firsthand the impact on their family and the challenges they have faced. This is why I am so passionate and have joined this cause to help find a cure for this terrible disease.”
MADIE
“I initially knew the Novorrs through my brother Avery and his friend, Tate. Tate is the son of Scott Novorr, Sophie’s dad and Chandler’s neighbor. Avery and Tate played soccer and baseball together growing up. So, I remember seeing Scott and talking to him at the games. I went from knowing the Novorrs mainly through Tate, as my brother’s funny and loud friend, to a family coping with a sick dad. I could just see how the illness affected their family and I could only imagine what that must have felt like. It’s been nice to see how open they have been with sharing about Scott’s illness and how our community has rallied around them. It would be great if no other families have to experience this again, and that’s why I’ve joined Sophie and Chandler in the LLS Student of the Year campaign.”
The Students of the Year competition begins February 13th and runs through April 2nd. We’re asking for your help to reach our goal of $25,000! Please join the fight to beat cancer and click on the Donate Now button!
