Lend A Hand
We would like to join you all to come have dinner at the 151st Chipotle on Saturday March 9th from 4p.m to 8 p.m. Bring family and friends and have a good time. While buying a meal make sure to mention the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. That way 33% of the proceeds that chipotle recieves will be donated to our cause.
It's better to lend a hand than to point a finger
“Always have a willing hand to help someone, you might be the only one that does.”– Roy T. Bennett
Lend a Hand is the fundraising group that includes the following juniors/seniors who attend Blue Valley Northwest High School: Akshat Singh, Deepak Dubey, Faseeh Chatta, Lalsi Vemuri, Lauren Naber, Maclain Michael, Olivia Baxter, and Samanyu Pusuluri. We are honored that we have been given this opportunity to have an immense impact on our society. This is not an easy task to fundraise and spread awareness about the importance of helping cure cancer. Every penny counts and we understand the value of that. Our team is not doing this just for the potential benefits that we will receive after this is all done with, but we are doing this to help benefit the society. We have immersed ourselves in helping others rather than sticking to what will benefit us. The satisfaction of helping your society and the people around you is far stronger and more important than the papers and medals we may get. Win or lose, we will walk away from this knowing that we helped make a difference; we know that our efforts will help another person see the sun come up once again.
About Us
We are honored to participate in the 2019 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We are proud to be raising critical dollars in honor of a young patient hero who is currently battling or is in remission from a blood cancer. Each dollar is a vote. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student(s) of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.
Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.
We really are changing the face of blood cancer!
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.
Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
