Mariella was first diagnosed with cancer at the age of 6. she struggled through two years of awful treatment but eventually after a little over 2 years after being diagnosed she was able to ring the bell and is now cancer free!

Dear Friends and Family,

My name is Saige Nussenblatt I am an 11^th grader at NSU University School. I have been given the honorable opportunity to help fundraise to find a cure for cancer and help those living with cancer to raise as much as possible over the next 7 weeks. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) has given me the honor by nominating me as a candidate in their South Florida Student of the Year fundraising challenge, which runs from January 19^th to March 12^th. I am extremely motivated and excited to help cancer patients come home to their families not being scared instead of slowly having to say goodbye to their loved ones.  

I am honoring those who have battled cancers, like my grandfather who 5 years ago was unfortunately unable to beat cancer. My grandfather used to slow dance and paint with me every Friday ever since I was 3 years old. When he passed, I was not only left heartbroken, but felt powerless. This organization gave me the ability to have power in helping others by raising money for a cure and raising money that will go directly to LLS in support of its longstanding mission to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

 The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society impacts the cancer world by funding breakthroughs such as immunotherapy, genomics, and personalized medicine which is improving lives of patients every day. Over 54,025 children and adolescents younger than 20 years old in the US are living with or in remission from leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, myelodysplastic syndrome, or myeloproliferative neoplasms.

Every 3 minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every 10 minutes someone dies from cancer. Help me to change the statistic!
