Students of the Year Grand Rapids

Welcome to Allyson May's SOY Fundraising Page!

Jan 22, 2020

I am so honored to be running as a candidate for the 2020 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which high school students from across West Michigan participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The candidate that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. My mission is not only to raise money but also to bring awareness to blood cancers.

I am running for Student of the Year because I believe that LLS is an amazing organization. Since 2017, LLS has has helped advance 46 of 53 blood cancer treatments approved by the FDA. To put this into context, a typical "good" year for drug approvals is 1 or 2 every year.

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate! I believe that together with my family, friends, and community I can make a substantial impact.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!
