Welcome to Savannah Moorleg's SOY Fundraising Page!
The West Michigan Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is launching its 2018 Students of the Year - West Michigan campaign. The Students of the Year campaign is a wonderful opportunity for Michigan high school students enrolled in private or public schools who are enthusiastic about volunteerism, philanthropy, community outreach, and developing leadership skills to participate in the fight against blood cancers.
The campaign is a seven-week initiative in which nominated high school students, or teams of two or three students, participate in a fundraising competition to benefit LLS. Every dollar counts as one vote. The amounts raised during the 7 week period, beginning February 9th, 2018 are TOP SECRET and are not disclosed until March 29th, 2018 at the Grand Finale Gala, celebrating the accomplishments of our student candidates. The candidates/teams who raise the most money at the end of the 7 week competition earn the title "Student(s) of the Year" and a $2,500 (shared) scholarship to the college or university of his/her choice. Students will also have the opportunity to receive our Citizenship Award, and all of the candidates will be recognized for their fundraising achievement.
The Gala evening will be at one of the most unique venues in the Grand Rapids area, the Goei Center. The Goei Center is located in the former Kindel Furniture Factory which is has been brought up to date while keeping the unique charm and character.
