"It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light." 

This quote by Aristotle is one that resonates with me. Beyond serving as motivation, it is a perspective I strive to have, especially in the fight against cancer. Approximately every 3 minutes, one person in the US is diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma. And approximately every 9 minutes, someone in the US dies from a blood cancer. This adds up to approximately 157 people each day or more than six people every hour.

These people are why I joined the fight against blood cancers.

I want to live in a future where cancer doesn't exist.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign as a Candidate, where my team and I will work to raise as much money as possible to fund cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients.
