Every day, over 5000 people are diagnosed with cancer. Everday day, over 5000 lives are changed forever. Each day, a new group of children, mothers, grandfathers, siblings and friends are burdened with a disease labeled as the second most common cause of death in the US. I am on this mission to bring those numbers down. Every number subtracted is a victory, and we should not stop until we reach zero. Even if cancer has not touched your life, think about all the people who are not fortunate enough to say that. Everyone deserves the chance to live, to breathe, to dance and to fly, and we are the generation that can turn that into a reality. Anything you contribute will help. A small action is better than no action. Togehther, this is an achievable goal! It starts with you.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

• Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
• Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
• Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
