Lily's Student Visionaries of the Year Maryland Fundraiser

Jan 15, 2023

Hello everyone!

My name is Lily Belle McDowell and I am excited and honored to be representing team Fly4ACure of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign! Our main focus is to fundraise, working toward our goals for this meaningful campaign. Through fundrasing, we will be spreading awareness to the community around us while competing to collect the most assests for LLS's aim to cure blood cancer. Our fundrasing timeframe is from January 14th to March 4th! During that time, our team will be networking with buisnesses to obtain sponsorships, reaching out to the community, as well as holding fundrasing events!

I have a personal connection to blood cancer, as my cousin, Nikki Deniker, sadly passed from Leukemia. She was brave and fought strong! Her family continues to spread awareness and help support the families and children who are dealing with pediatric cancer, with their non-profit public charity. I want to also make a difference and will be doing this in memory of Nikki!

At a young age, I particpated, along with my family members, in the Light the Night Walk in Pittsburg in support of my cousin's fight with Leukiema.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was built on that same vision - of a better world - one without blood cancers.

I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help!

As a global leader in the fight against blood cancer, LLS:

  • Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
  • Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
  • Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.

Please consider joining this fight by making a donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!

Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer.

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!
