Joyce's Student Visionaries of the Year Maryland Fundraiser

Hello! My name is Joyce Zhu and I’m a sophomore at Frederick High School. I am hoping to raise $3000 with the vision of a world without blood cancer. This year I am given the opportunity to be a team candidate apart of Fredco Fighters. We work to challenge blood cancer by spreading awareness and raising funds to support cutting-edge research. This year is my first with LLS and I’m excited to contribute to their mission: “a world without blood cancers”
Just last year in 2022, a girl by the name of Natalie McMaster passed away from a six-and-a-half-year battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She had fought long and hard, but sadly, in the end, cancer took her. She had hopes and dreams of going to college. She was kind and compassionate, played softball and field hockey, and loved hanging out with her friends. It’s difficult to face the harsh truth but they are what compel us to do what we can to fight back.
LLS uses its platform and promotes the support for blood cancer to…
-
make sure that effective research to used to develop efficient technology to lead breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics, and medicine.
-
make sure that cancer patients are supported to the best of their needs through one-on-one support and assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials.
-
make sure that advocates and policymakers can drive policy changes to accelerate the development of new cancer treatments.
Without your support, we won’t be able to reach our goals or help any patient and their loved ones to the best of our ability. With your donation today, we can work step by step to make a world free of blood cancer. All donations are tax-deductible and help to fund research and patient care. Please visit my website often and tell friends who would also like to donate!
Thanks to your support, my efforts will help ensure this generation is the last to see cancer!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you!

Dear Joyce,I hope that this donation will help you to reach your $3,000.00 goal. I strongly support the leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) in its mission to cure blood cancers. You have selected an organization whose research has helped my brother -in law, John Hart who was diagnosed with non B-Lymphoma 5 years ago, and following radiation thereapy is currently remission.
