I decided to dedicate my time to LLS and SVOY because my close childhood friend, Sam Pratt, battled Leukemia at a young age while we were in Pre-School. I’m very grateful to have Sam Pratt in my life for the past 14 years due to cancer treatment. I never wanted to watch anyone go through what she went through ever again; however, in 2020 my grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. She passed away one year later. It was during this time when I realized the importance of cancer research. I want every person diagnosed with cancer to know how strong they truly are, they’re not alone as there are people fighting for them like Sam’s Cancer Wrecking Crew, and experience life without cancer. Every cancer patient deserves the right to call themselves a survivor. ​​​​​​​
