In April, 2017, I was diagnosed with CML (Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia) which is extremly rare in children.  This type of leukemia is treatable with a treatment that research has proven to have a very good success rate.  The treatment is an oral Chemo called Bosulif which I take daily.   What I do know and have been told is that I have a long journey ahead of me and that I do have a chance to get control of my body and this disease. I may have to take an oral treatment the rest of my life in the many years to come, but with your help and donations we can further fund research and hopefully find a cure and erradicate CML and all the other blood cancers.  I continue to go to Children's Hospital every month to get my blood drawn and PCR (Polmerase Chain Reaction) checked which tells us if there are BCR/ABL genes which indicate CML.  While we all want to remain optimistic, the reality is that that I need to remain cautiously optimistic. Yes, I have responded well to the treatment with some ups and downs along the way, but it will be a long journey that I hope will lead to me becoming cancer-free at some point in the future.  I certainly feel the effects of having this awful disease, but I know that I have a chance.  With your help and support we can give others a fighting chance.  I am thankful for the research that has already been conducted has allowed progress to be made.  However, my goal is for other people to have the same oportunity that only research funding will give.   Please consider making a donation to this incredable foundation.  I am thankful to God for his Mercy and Love that He has for me.  Thank you for reading my story.
