WHY

Feb 10, 2022

Why? Why am I doing this other than to help Alyssa’s campaign?

Meghan’s Legacy is one of the reasons. Friends and acquaintances that have lost their children, or their children have fought this terrible disease. Meghan lost her fight with Leukemia at only 13, but she was more worried about her friends and family than what was happening to herself. Her family, while devastated, choose JOY every day to honor her. JOY in being able to remember the time with her that they had, and spreading JOY to others. No child should have to make a choice like this. Please, help raise money for the research into children’s treatments, and other treatments for cancer. Please donate below to support this cause.

Thank you!

Kim's Students of the Year Fundraiser

Feb 05, 2022

I have signed up to save lives with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by joining Alyssa's Team "Warriors for a Cure!" and am working to help Alyssa raise as much money as possible towards cancer research.  Alyssa is a Sophomore at Boonsoro High and is going for STUDENT OF THE YEAR with LLS.  Alyssa is participating in honor of her Grandfather who passed away recently from cancer.

LLS is supporting and helping to fund new treatments for CHILDHOOD CANCER - in the last 40 years only FOUR drugs have been produced for children.  FOUR!!  We need to help our children survive this terrible disease!!

Thanks to your support, LLS has funded drugs like targeted therapies and immunotherapies that are now saving thousands of lives every day.

All donations are greatly appreciated and tax-deductible. They'll not only support LLS research, but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.   Every dollar raised counts as one vote for our campaign. The candidate(s) whose team tallies the most votes earns the prestigious title of Student or Students of the Year. Will you help Alyssa earn this award?
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support! For more information about LLS, please visit www.lls.org

Please share with friends who you think would also like to donate!

This campaign makes me think about my friend, Art Schawlow. Art was the co-inventor of the laser (not bad) and of the idea of laser cooling (an idea I look much advantage of). He received a Nobel Prize in Physics in 1981. Art died of blood cancer in 1999. He was a great scientist and a lovely person. -- Bill Phillips
