My name is Alex Britton and I'm so happy to be a team member on team Knights 2 the Rescue. I will be working alongside a small group of students to raise as much money as possible for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. During these 7 weeks (February 5th - March 26th), our team will be striving to raise the most money we can so that our candidate's team can win Student of the Year. Every dollar raised will help us towards our goal of $150,000. As you may know, everyone wins when cancer loses. So please help our team raise as much money as possible to go towards beating cancer so that as many cancer patients as possible can get the care they need with treatments that cure!

     What drove me to become a team member of this campaign was my mother, Renee Britton. She was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia about one year ago. When she was diagnosed I was devastated as anyone is when they hear their loved one has cancer. She went through many rounds of chemotherapy in which the chemotherapy drained her. It was very difficult to see her like that because she was going through a very hard time. Thankfully her docter said she was a candidate for a bone marrow transplant. Fortunately, my sister was able to be her donor. She is now doing better and in remission. This whole experience has inspired me to make change for people in the future that have cancer so that no one has to go through what my mother did. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society funds many different research projects and if we raise our goal of $150,000 we will be able to fund 3. Every dollar donated will directly go to finding a cure to end cancer for good!
