Emma's Students of the Year Fundraiser
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page, welcome!
We are Emma and Hanna Weikert--both part of the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Student of the Year Campaign! This is a program where high school students fundraise and campaign in order to earn money for research, patient support, education and adovaction for legislation to help people living with blood cancer.
Our personal connection to leukemia is our friend, Mackenzie McCarter. She has been diagnosed with, and beat, blood cancer twice in her life. LLS was there to help her and her family through her battles with leukemia, which is why we are so passionate about raising money for this organization. Mackenzie is now cancer-free, but every three minutes, a new person is diagnosed with blood cancer. An estimated 1,297,027 people in the United States are living with, or in remission from, a blood cancer. And between 2012-2016, Leukemia alone was the sixth most common cause of cancer deaths. Your donation would be going directly towards support for people just like Mackenzie, as well as education, and research towards a cure.
Our appreciation for your support cannot be overstated, and we thank you in your interest of donating. Remember that every dollar is helpful in our goal to end blood cancer and help current patients and their families.
As a global leader in the fight to end cancer, LLS is committed to doing more for blood cancer patients and families than any organization in the world. LLS’s signature fundraising campaigns drive critical support for its mission, including a nearly $1.3 billion investment in cutting edge cancer research worldwide since it was founded in 1949. Since the 1960s, survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled, or even quadrupled.
Every facet of LLS’s mission – research, education and support, and policy and advocacy – work in harmony to put blood cancer patients and their families first. LLS has helped millions impacted by cancer throughout its more than 70-year history, even funding breakthrough blood cancer research to advance lifesaving treatments and cures that is now helping patients with other cancers and diseases. That is why at LLS we say that beating cancer is in our blood.
Please visit my website as often as you can and share it with everyone you know who would also like to join us in the fight against cancer. Together, we have the power, the passion and the resolve to achieve a world without blood cancer. All donations are tax-deductible.
On behalf of cancer patients and their families everywhere, I sincerely thank you for your support!

"When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on." - Franklin D. Roosevelt This quote states to never give up and to stay hopeful. The rope got there by someone wanting to help. The rope represents hope for anyone in their life to hang on to it, to not give up until they have reached the top. The top being a better life. I am happy to be donator because I threw a rope down for someone and hope that they will hold on to that rope so that we may help them up. So that we may see them happier and healthier. We as donators give people hope for a better life which is more than enough reason for me to donate.
