Welcome to Kevin Maciel's SOY Fundraising Page!

Jan 28, 2018

Welcome To Kevin's fundraising page!.

At the age of three, I was diagnosed with Leukemia, fighting a daily battle with many complications for 7
years; and under those circumstances I was already different than most kids. I am now 18 years old and
am honored to be able to share my story. I am two-time survivor of Leukemia. While undergoing the
treatment, I had to make many hard choices, but through these hardships I gained maturity at a very early
age. After being cured, I decided to start looking for ways to help others that must endure the same
hardships I did. Through this organization, I feel like I’m doing a good deed. It is our responsibility as
human beings and as a society to help those in need and take care of one another. I feel honored and
blessed that many people took care of me. Without their support, I know I would not be alive today. I
would like to take this opportunity to ask everyone to help me on this campaign

Please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. Thanks to your support, my efforts, will help fund the therapies and treatments and help save lives today.

LLS's continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled.

And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.

Please visit my Web site often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere I thank you for your support!

Hi Kevin, What a wonderful thing you are doing! And what an inspirational story! My son also attends ARUNDEL High and he had leukemia (high risk) when he was 2 and finished treatment about the age of 6. He is a senior. He as well had to grow up faster and endure much pain at such a young age. I won’t tell you his name as he will be angry at me, lol, because respectably he has distanced himself from his past history of cancer. He doesn’t want it to define him so only his close friends know. I however, still like to attend childhood cancer events, ect. So, this is in honor of you and him and all children with childhood cancer! What a small world you 2 in the same school. Unfortunate for the reason. Good luck on your journey! God bless you! Regards, Jaime
