Leena Rai | Team Cure Rising
Welcome to Leena Rai's SOY fundraising page!
A huge thank you to every who joined us last Friday night for an amazing night of great company, delicious food, dancing, and donating! We are so proud to say we raised over $12,000 towards LLS's mission in just one night!
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!
I am honored to be nominated for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's 2018 Student of the Year Campaign! I am working to raise $75,000, so please join me in supporting LLS by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. With your support, our fundraising efforts will fund the therapies and treatments to help save lives today.
I am so excited to participate in the 2019 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition promoting community involvement, advocacy, and life skills. I am proud to be raising critical dollars in honor of all of my family and friends who have suffered from various forms of cancers. No one deserves to suffer from this devastating disease, and your donations will have a positive impact on groundbreaking research to put an end to cancer! Each dollar is a vote. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.
Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible! Over 3,500 kids no older than I are diagnosed with Leukemia every year, and every 3 minutes someone joins this fight. LLS has funded 15 out of 18 FDA approved treatments for blood cancers, and many LLS supported therapies help not only blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. These therapies are even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers, including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs are going on to help patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Multiple Sclerosis. This campaign gives me a unique opportunity to give back to my Maryland community in life-saving ways, but I can’t do it alone! My team, Cure Rising, and I need your help to reach our goal of raising $75,000 in just 7 weeks.
SPREAD THE WORD-- Please visit my web site often, and share my link with as many friends as possible encouraging them to donate!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, I thank you for your support as you help us work towards a world without cancer!
