Hello,

This is Gregory Wu. My team “The TumorBusters” are competing with several other Student of the Year candidates and their teams in New England, and together we will each put our best fundraising foot forward in honor of our honored hero, blood cancer warrior Kyle Burgos, a high school student who recently survived his treatment for Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma.

On a more personal note, my advisor and teacher in school developed cancer last year. He was the last person I expected to be affected by cancer. However, thanks to all the research supported by organizations like LLS, he was able to get the latest innovative treatments, made a full recovery quickly, and return to his full-time job in school.  

When I realized just how close cancer came to changing my life, I was motivated to find ways to make a difference in cancer research. That opportunity came in the form of LLS and its Student of the Year (SOY) campaign. By helping to raise money for cancer research, I feel like I can make an impact on the lives of millions of cancer patients and their families each year. I hope that you will join me in the fight against blood cancer.
