Thank you so much to everyone who donated to Team Hope at our Shaw's event the other day! With your help, we raised $324.11! 

I recently joined the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Student of the Year Program. With my team, Team Hope, we will compete with other teams across the state to raise the most money for LLS. 

The program is not just about winning though. When I was seven, my grandfather was diagnosed with cancer. I remember flying across the country and seeing all my relatives gathered in my grandmother's small living room, some crying others in numb shock. Many of my family members would later say that hearing my grandpa's diagnosis was the biggest jolt they had ever recieved. As I was pretty young at the time, I didn't really understand what was happening. At that point, I don't think I even knew what cancer was. But I do remember the emotions of my family. My family felt helpless and scared, and when I saw my grandpa in the hospital bed, I felt scared as well. One of my good friends battled leukemia throughout his childhood. Another friend lost an aunt to blood cancer. Too many people have felt helpless against blood cancer. But together, we can change that. Your donations to Team Hope and LLS will go into patient support and outreach, policy and advocacy, and research. With your donation, we are one step closer to beating blood cancers and diseases for good.
