Students of the Year Boston

Please note that the content below reflects a draft version of this fundraiser.

LLS’s Students of the Year program is a seven-week campaign during which select high school students participate in a fundraising competition to drive forward LLS’s mission of fighting blood cancers. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the competition earns the title Student(s) of the Year. This year, the students are raising money in honor of Jaden Doher, a local 14-year-old who is currently battling leukemia. In addition to making a significant impact in the fight against blood cancer, students develop professional skills such as entrepreneurship, leadership, marketing, and project management, ensuring they stand out among their peers when applying to college and/or competing for jobs.

LLS's continued advancements over the years are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!
