Every year, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society hosts a 7 week long event across the nation to raise money for blood cancer research. This Year, Easton Area High School’s Hero Squad has once again joined forces with LLS to tackle this 7 week campaign. Team Brodhead’s Heroes was founded in honor of Easton Area School District Teacher, Jena Brodhead, who was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and underwent chemotherapy while teaching full-time. Largely due to advancements in research funded by the Leukemia & Lymphoma society, Mrs. Brodhead emerged cancer free in October of 2013 and has been in remission ever since. Her story serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of research and fundraising for cancer patients. This year will mark the 10 year anniversary of Mrs. Brodhead’s remission, and in honor of her, Team Brodhead’s Heroes has set a goal of $50,000 during their campaign toward the research crucial for future patients. Co-Candidates this year include Tavleen Rahal, Estelle Fox, and Suhani Makwana. They will lead their team and community in contributing to this great cause!

• Funds cutting-edge research leading to breakthroughs in immunotherapy, genomics and personalized medicine that are improving and saving the lives of patients
• Provides free education and support for blood cancer patients and families, including personalized, one-on-one support, assistance with identifying and enrolling in clinical trials, and more.
• Mobilizes thousands of advocates to drive policy changes that accelerate the development of new cancer treatments and break down barriers to care.
