Students of the Year Lexington
Lyndsay Tanaka | Lee's League
Welcome to Lyndsay Tanaka's SOY Fundraising Page!
I am honored to have been selected for the 2020 Students of the Year program, a seven-week fundraising competition designed to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and those battling cancer. The candidate that raises the most money by March 26 is named Student of the Year. This competition is not solely for the purpose of fundraising, however. It also educates people on the prominence of cancer in our world today, and the ways in which they can make a contribution toward finding a cure.
My campaign will run in honor of my grandmother, Lee Robson, who passed away in November of 2016. She remained steadfast and optimistic throughout the entirety of her struggle with leukemia, and her strength and faith truly inspired me. Ever since her death, I have searched for ways to support other families who are affected by cancer. When I came across this program, I knew it was the one, especially as it targeted leukemia specifically.
The LLS has already had a massive impact on the fight against cancer. It funded 48 of 53 FDA-approved treatments since 2017 and supported 80 research grants, a $180 million multi-year commitment, in 2018. Five-year survival rates for blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled since the early 1960s. Despite its title, the LLS targets more than just blood cancers. Blood cancer research leads to treatment advances for other cancers and serious diseases as well.
Your involvement and donation--even a small one--brings us one step closer to breaking cancer's hold on our community and those we love. All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. Not only will they contribute to LLS-funded research, but they will also help provide critical information and financial aid for patients.
Please visit our website often and share with friends who would also like to donate!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!

Thank you for raising money for this important cause. LLS is one of the best non profits for cancer as they keep their operational budget LOW and so most money goes to the mission (research and patient support).

Heather selflessly gave her life to give her baby the best chance at life. She was diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer while pregnant and waited the extra weeks before chemo to make sure her baby survived.
