Students of the Year
In 2015, just after turning 13 years old, I ran for LLS Man of the Year. Through tremendous support from people like you, I was able to raise $63,000 and won the title of 2015 LLS Man of the Year. They tell me I was the youngest candidate ever to run and the amount we raised is still a record in the Kentucky/Southern Indiana region. In 2016, I was honored as the LLS Boy of the Year and worked with all MWOY candidates to help motivate them in their fundraising efforts.
Now I am a candidate for 2018 Student of the Year!
Select high school students from our region are participating in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The competition runs from February 22, 2018 to April 12, 2018. This time I have decided to take a different approach. I turn 16 years old on March 12, 2018 and have decided to ask for donations to LLS instead of birthday presents. So here is my challenge to you:
Reece King LLS Birthday Challenge
- Join me in helping others by asking for donations to LLS instead of Birthday presents for your next birthday
- Email, write, call or text all your friends & relatives and tell them you have accepted the Reece King LLS Birthday Challenge
- Ask them if they would consider making a Donation to LLS before April 12, 2018 instead of buying you a present for your next Birthday
- Finally, send them the link to this page so they can donate online or if you would like to have your own donations page, send me an email - firstname.lastname@example.org
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.
Please visit our website often and refer friends who would also like to take the Reece King LLS Birthday Challenge!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere I thank you for your support!
