Welcome to Aleigha Hancock's SOY Fundraising Page!

Feb 01, 2019

Welcome! I am so excited and honored to be nominated for the 2019 Student of the Year program! It is a seven-week initiative which select high school students participate in a fundraising competition benefiting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The way it works is the candidate team that raises the most donations at the end of the seven weeks (March 8)  is named Student of the Year!!!  My mission is to not only raise the most money but to bring awareness to blood cancers like leukemia.  Every dollar given goes to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society for advanced treatment options, patient support, and to find a cure.

This campaign is so important to me because I know the impact of blood cancer.  On April 18, 2017 at age 15 I was diagnosed with BCell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia,  The diagnosis came with endless hospital admissions, 2 chest port surgeries, intense chemotherapy pumped into my body for hours at a time, anesthesia/spinal taps, medical imaging and tests, countless venipunctures, endless chest port accesses, losing my hair twice, and to this very day Ive ingested more daily medication than most consume in a lifetime. Now, even though  I am still undergoing treatment, Im in the maintenance phase of this thing and Im blessed to say I MADE IT!!

So I ask you to please donate and help my team, ALEIGHAS ARMY to not only win this campaign but to end the war against blood cancer.

Please visit our website often and SHARE SHARE SHARE to help us reach our goal!! All donations are greatly appreciated and on behalf of children and adult blood cancer patients everywhere, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!
