Karen's Student Visionaries of the Year Indianapolis Fundraiser

I am so excited to be raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma’s Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign. I am on Team “Go Kadence” led by Brooklynn Ferrell, a junior at Fishers High School. Brooklyn is a former student of mine, and I am honored she asked me to be on her team to raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Brooklyn’s honored hero is Kadence Turientine who was diagnosed with leukemia when she was just 10 years old.

Another reason I wanted to join Brooklyn’s team is to honor my sweet daughter, Lauren. Lauren passed away at the age of nineteen after a 5-year journey with cancer. Lauren did not have a blood cancer, but LLS research has been so effective in treating blood cancers that they are starting to test it in other types of cancers and are truly working towards a world without cancer.

I hope you can join us in fighting this terrible disease by making a donation. Our team’s goal is to raise $15,000 and we are off to an amazing start, so we hope to raise even more. We really need your help in doing this. My hope is that with new treatments and therapies, Brooklyn’s generation will see a cure for cancer.

 Thank you so much!
