Students of the Year Indianapolis

Welcome to Stephanie McClung's SOY Fundraising Page!
Hello everyone! I am elated to participate in the 2019 Students of the Year Campaign. This a seven-week campaign in which a selected group of high school students from around the state of Indiana participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We are proudly raising critical dollars in honor of a boy named Riley, who is currently battling blood cancer and is our honored hero for this campaign.
Each dollar that you donate is a vote. A vote against blood borne diseases. The candidate that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. I am doing this to bring awarkness and attention to blood cancers, like leukmeia. This is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.
There are 70 potential life years lost on average when a child dies of cancer compared to 15 potential life life years lost for adults. Fewer than 10 total drugs have been developed for use in children with cancer along with adults -- compared with hundreds of drugs that have been developed specifically for adults only. Most children are treated "off-label" which may limit access, coverage and certainly limits innovative new treatments for children. I have a strong hope and drive to make these statistics to dissapear completey. This can happen with your help!
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.
DONATING DEVOURS DOZENS OF DISEASES!
Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!
On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!

I know it isn't much - but I also know that every bit counts. If we all gave a little, it would go a long way!
