With today being World Cancer Day I am extremely grateful I've had the opportunity to help others in such a drastic way. The LLS has allowed me to grow as a person and make changes I never thought I could make. Also, this could never be possible without my gracious donors so a VERY big thank you to everyone who has been able to continue to help me achieve my goal!

Welcome to Ava Offenbacker's SOY Fundraising Page!

Dec 08, 2018

I am honored to support the 2019 Students of the Year program, a seven-week initiative in which select high school students from around the country participate in a fundraising competition to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We are proudly raising critical dollars in honor of a young patient hero named Riley, who is currently battling blood cancer.

Each dollar is a vote. The candidate team that raises the most money at the end of the seven weeks is named Student of the Year. Our mission is to not only raise the most money but also to bring attention to blood cancers like leukemia, which is the most common form of cancer in children and teens.

Since the early 1960s, five-year survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled or even quadrupled. And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are helping patients with other cancers and serious diseases. In fact, drugs first approved for blood cancers are now approved to treat patients with stomach cancers, skin cancers, and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS-funded research but will help provide critical information and support for patients, and support advocacy for laws to ensure patients can access the care and treatments they need.

My connection to the LLS is through a friend of mine. Unfortunatley, she was recently diagnosed with cancer just in her freshman year. I'm doing this program to help children, teenagers and adults like her. To improve their quality of life as well as helping to find a cure for this tough disease. This is where we all need to stand up and be tougher! Be apart of the change. Be apart of the generation that cures cancer. So please, donate to help save many lives.

Please visit our website often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere, thank you for your support!

WAY TO GO! Good luck Ava!! LLS is doing research that benefits cancer treatment for more than just blood cancers; and they are making lots of progress but it takes money to do it. Join me in helping this ambitious student raise money for such a noble cause.
