Feb 11, 2021

Thank you team members, friends,  family and community for the last 4 weeks for listening and donating to My WHY?  SOY is so important to me and my family .   We have ways to go, BUT, I know with everyone behind me and our team of great high school students we will do great things in the next  3 WEEKS!  So please if you thought about donating or sponsoring our campaign please do so now at the link provided. And if you need more information please reach out to myself or anyone on my team , or my mom Terri my biggest supporter!  I am blessed to have my family especially my dad who survived Hodgkin’s Lymphoma eight years ago in March. I’m just trying to give back as a minimal “thank you”, and I hope we are a part of the generation that finds a CURE for cancer!🩸 #buzzing4bloodsoy

MY WHY

Jan 14, 2021

Approximately every three minutes someone in the United States is diagnosed with blood cancer. Seven years ago my family truly understood that number because my father became part of that statistic. He woke up feeling unwell with a lump on his neck and within a week was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma. This is the reality for hundreds of thousands of families across the country. By God’s grace, my father came out on top of this terrible disease and has been in remission for over 6 years, however, many people are not as lucky as my father to be on the other side of cancer. After watching him battle, I felt obligated to use his story to spread awareness and if I can make one family, one child, one grandparent, not be a part of that statistic, then I feel I did my part. Fortunately, I have always been an ambitious young woman and know I can help on a bigger scale, with your help of course. As I go through my senior year of high school, I wanted to do something for my community before embarking on the next phase of my life. With this in mind, I hope to turn your attention to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as I have been blessed to be nominated for their 2021 Student of the Year campaign. I will be competing among other high school students in the Northeast Indiana area in a 7-week fundraising challenge. LLS is the largest non-profit cancer research organization and is dedicated to finding a cure for blood cancers. Not only are they focused on finding a cure, but they are one-hundred percent dedicated to improving treatments and the quality of life of patients. I say this from firsthand experience when LLS assisted in my own father’s cancer treatment. Without this dedicated organization, who is to say my father and many other cancer survivors would be here today. Along with that blessing comes the harsh reality that the fight is not over for so many people including our 2021 honored hero Cooper Dejesus. He is currently 4 years old and was diagnosed with B-Cell Leukemia at just three years old and will undergo many treatments until 2022. The comeback is always bigger than the setback, so I ask you to help me help LLS be the comeback from cancer. None of this is fair and needs to STOP. The suffering needs to END. This is why the effective research that LLS is able to do is so important. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is truly changing the face of cancer and research. The survival rate of researched blood cancers has more than doubled. My 7-week campaign will give LLS the opportunity to continue fighting this disease. I cannot do this alone, I need your help.

Reece's Students of the Year Fundraiser

Jun 25, 2020

Welcome To My Fundraising Page.

Please join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. Thanks to your support, my efforts, will help fund the therapies and treatments and help save lives today.

LLS's continued advancements over the years, are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled.

And many LLS supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.

We really are changing the face of blood cancer!

All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well.

Please visit my Web site often and bring friends who would also like to donate!

On behalf of blood cancer patients everywhere I thank you for your support!
