Mackenzie's TEAM enCUREage

Hello everyone!

Welcome to my fundraising page and thank you for taking interest in donating to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. It is because of donors like you that we are able to get one step closer to finding a cure for cancer AND making our generation the last generation do deal with cancer. When I was given the wonderful opportunity to run for Student of the Year, I was honored because I know many people in my life who have not only had cancer, but those who have been heavily impacted by it as well.

Growing up, I lived in Chicago, but when I was around 8 years old I moved to Indiana. Shortly after I moved here, I had one of my best friend's (from Chicago) mother pass away of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. In addition to this tragic event, I also had another one of my friend's mom pass away as well from cancer. Not only this, but I also lost both of my paternal grandparents to cancer as well. Seeing this happen put a reality in my head that has changed the way I view how I live each day. I firmly believe that the cure to cancer is not far away. Many of us, if not all of us, have been impacted by cancer in some way. It is for this reason that I decided to do something to help fight against a disease that has impacted so many of us. Each day of our lives is truly a gift, and I want to do whatever I can do to make sure that everyone gets the chance to live their best life and to live a life without cancer.

So how do we do this? It starts with the help from YOU! By making a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, you are helping fight against the third leading cancer killer of America. YOU are helping ensuring that all children have access to safer, more effective treatments, helping children and their families cope with the financial stresses that come with cancer, and providing children with blood cancer the research, education, support, and advocacy they need. YOU are helping to fight against a disease that affects people anywhere from infants to the elderly. As you can see, the impact of a donation is HUGE, and that is why I am asking you to help my team and I reach my goal of $40,000 for reseach, support, and advocacy of cancer patients. Any donation is greatly appreciated not just by my team and I, but those who have been impacted by cancer as well. Thank you again for your time and consideration.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page, welcome!

I encourage you to join me in supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. By donating to LLS, you support the many facets of LLS’s mission work from investing in groundbreaking research, providing education and support to patients, and advocating at the state and federal level for legislation to help those living with cancer. My appreciation for your support cannot be overstated — each and every dollar donated to LLS brings us closer to our goal to end blood cancer and makes an impact for cancer patients and their families.

As a global leader in the fight to end cancer, LLS is committed to doing more for blood cancer patients and families than any organization in the world. LLS’s signature fundraising campaigns drive critical support for its mission, including a nearly $1.3 billion investment in cutting edge cancer research worldwide since it was founded in 1949. Since the 1960s, survival rates for many blood cancer patients have doubled, tripled, or even quadrupled.

Every facet of LLS’s mission – research, education and support, and policy and advocacy – work in harmony to put blood cancer patients and their families first. LLS has helped millions impacted by cancer throughout its more than 70-year history, even funding breakthrough blood cancer research to advance lifesaving treatments and cures that is now helping patients with other cancers and diseases. That is why at LLS we say that beating cancer is in our blood.

Please visit my website as often as you can and share it with everyone you know who would also like to join us in the fight against cancer. Together, we have the power, the passion and the resolve to achieve a world without blood cancer. All donations are tax-deductible.

On behalf of cancer patients and their families everywhere, I sincerely thank you for your support!
